Empathetic communication is all about listening with your full attention to understand another person's feelings and perspective. When you make someone feel seen, heard and respected, an emotional connection forms. And once that bond is there, your words have far more impact.

1.Talk less, listen more. If you tend to talk a lot, shoot to listen 70% of the time in each conversation. ...

2.Listen to connect. ...

3.Let the other person go first. ...

4.Let people know you understand before moving on.

These are cognitive, emotional and compassionate empathy. This page explains what is meant by each of these types if empathy. It also explains how and why it is possible to demonstrate one or more of the three types of empathy, yet still come across as uncaring.

When you have empathy, it means you can understand what a person is feeling in a given moment, and understand why other people's actions made sense to them. 3. reflection of empathizing to others?

Answer:

Putting yourself in their shoes

Explanation:

Empathy is the ability that lets you understand the feelings, circumstances and emotions of another person. This is different from sympathy which means that you feel compassionate towards another person and somehow feel and experience pity for that person.

This is best exemplified when talking to other people. For example, a person's parent died, you will feel sad and would sympathize with that person., You will offer condolences. On the other hand empathy happens when you express understanding of his situation and feel for him. You might offer to help in other ways aside from offering condolences because you share a connection.

Empathy is being able to imagine what the other person is undergoing though you may not necessarily feel the same pain they do. It is about perspective--being able to see things from the other person's point of view. Usually when we sympathize there is action involved, and not just words of platitude.

What differentiates sympathy from empathy is the shared connection, not because you feel the same but because you have a better understanding of  what the other person feels. When you empathize you are also more engaged with the other person. There are people who are called empaths and they display this good skill of being able to understand other people. For the empath, however, being able to connect with others can be a tiring mental exercise.

Answer:

When something terrible happens to a friend or loved one, it can be difficult to know what to say.

That’s why we often reach for one of these common responses:

“Everything happens for a reason.”

“This too shall pass.”

“Just look on the bright side…”

“God has a plan.”

“I know how you feel.”

“He’s in a better place now.”

“This could be a blessing in disguise.”

“Something better is around the corner.”

What is empathy?

Empathy is being in someone's shoes. It is the feeling of being able to understand and feel someone in a particular situation. It is the capacity of someone to be able to experience the same feelings even if he did not experience them.

A short summary of the story

The story of empathizing was about a man who needed to sell his well-bred puppies for some pocket money. As he was nailing the signboard, a young boy approached him and asked if could buy some puppies. The man said the puppies are from well-grown parents so they cost a good fortune. The boy presented some coins amounting to $0.39 and the man whistled.

Puppies were running toward their master except for one who seems like the weakest of the crowd. The boy finally decided to take the last one. The man asked why but the boy replied, "I am weak too so this puppy needs someone who can understand him."
