Currently, humans are required to be proficient in three crucial areas. We must be the "three of the man", namely the man of social, the man of technology and the man of business. That is, humans must master the three fields, technology, business and economics, as well as social and political.
In this era of globalization or the 21st century, we must master and apply technology so that later we can compete socially, politically and socially. Because, every human being must always compete, if you don't want to, then you will definitely be left behind. To support this, in the 21st century, humans must have literacy skills and master at least three languages. Because if you don't, the communication will be chaotic.
Currently, literature skills are one of the benchmarks for mastering these three fields. For example, for business, the world will rely on several languages, such as French, Japanese, and Chinese. While in the field of technology, the standards are English, German and French. This is very important. Moreover, today's young generation is highly demanded to be able to master one of the three languages.
In addition, the media that is often opened to find information is online media with the reason that it is easy to use, and always carried. Information can be obtained from various online sources both through social media and online news without significant difficulties. However, it turns out that the ease of searching the media has not been matched by searching for the truth of news or information.
In the end, my expectation on the subject of literature is to deepen the 6 skills of literature that are relevant in the 21st century now, especially in information literacy, namely:
Visual literacy, in the form of the ability to understand and use including the ability to think, learn, and express oneself, including the integration of visual experiences with experiences obtained from other senses such as hearing, smelling, tasting, touching and feeling. Visual literacy competence allows a person to sort and interpret various visual actions, objects and or symbols. From there, one can communicate with others, create pamphlets, landmarks, create Web pages.Media Literacy, in the form of the ability to use various media to access, analyze and produce information for various purposes. Media includes television, film, radio, recorded music, newspapers and magazines, the internet and smartphones.Computer and communication technology literacy, namely the ability to know how to use and operate computers efficiently as information processing machines. Consists of hardware and software literacy.Network literacy, is the effective use of digital networks, which has developed a lot along with the development of the internet.Cultural literacy, meaning knowledge of, understanding of, how traditions, beliefs, symbols and icons, celebrations and means of communication of a country, religion, ethnic or tribal group have an impact on the creation, storage, handling, communication, preservation and archiving of data, information and knowledge using technology. Information literacy related to cultural literacy includes how cultural factors impact the efficient use of communication and information technology. Where the impacts that arise can be positive or negative impacts.Digital literacy, suggests that digital literacy is defined as the ability to relate to computer-aided information.
